About the event
NICOLA MADILL
Nicola Madill is an atmospheric folk-rock artist from Scotland’s east coast, described as “hauntingly beautiful” by Gary Clark (Danny Wilson) and “spellbinding” by Roddy Hart (BBC Radio Scotland). Her music fuses soul-stirring melodies with lyrical depth, creating a soundscape that is timeless, immersive, and unmistakably her own.
Her 2017 album Selene was named a Record of Note on BBC Scotland’s Roddy Hart Show, praised for its mesmerising sound. Since then, she has released The Night is Long (EP, 2024) and Absentee (2025), and most recently toured the UK as the exclusive support for Martin Stephenson & The Daintees on their Boat to Bolivia 40th Anniversary Tour.
Nicola’s songs explore archetypes, love, loss, and transformation. With a voice that is both earthy and ethereal, and a sound that moves between light and shadow, her performances draw listeners into a world where beauty and darkness coexist — a place rich with symbolism, folklore, and emotional depth.
Taking inspiration from Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, and Radiohead, Nicola’s music speaks to those drawn to the introspective, the mysterious, and the emotionally raw. Her songs linger long after the last note fades.
"Spellbinding, if you surrender yourself to it." Roddy Hart, BBC Radio Scotland.
"One of the finest female singer songwriter/performers I have encountered in the past 20 years". Martin Stephenson
"This is going to capture your head and your heart like no other." Geeforce Music
